Field of Forgotten Dreams

Field of Forgotten Dreams - John Paciga
00:00 / 00:00

The microphone, it tastes like sweet victory

The music of a thousand years

Ringing in the people's ears

But I ain't any louder than the silent screams

Of the people lost in the field of forgotten dreams

There's a place where all forgotten dreams

Just die out and fade away

When they're tossed in a dusty corner

Given up on, they'll never see the day

When just maybe they'd make a little girl smile

Or pay the bills for a little while

Or feed the kids for another week

Or ease your burdens but you're too meek

To realize that maybe this is what you've been looking for

All this time

Is there a world where everyone

Can believe in what they want to

Where there's no reason to fear

Or have to say what people want to hear?

So why are we all sitting here

Listening to the music

When out there it seems

Like the world is lost in the field of forgotten dreams?

There's a man who spends all his days

Wondering if he could reach the stars

He wished upon as a boy

But he would never feel the joy

Of chasing what he wanted so

And now he'll never ever know

If he could've done it if he tried

He'll never find that other side

And now oh now you know where he's been

All this time

Is there a world where everyone

Can believe in what they want to

Where there's no reason to fear

Or have to say what people want to hear?

So why are we all sitting here

Listening to the music

When out there it seems

Like the world is lost in the field of forgotten dreams?

Is there a world where everyone

Can believe in what they want to

Where there's no reason to fear

Or have to say what people want to hear?

So why are we all sitting here

Listening to the music

When out there it seems

Like the world is lost in the field of forgotten dreams?
