Lexington Road

Lexington Road - John Paciga
00:00 / 00:00

Love's a thing we all romanticize

In the end it only leads to our demise

Happy endings still exist I know

But tonight shattered hopes stole the show

To break a heart is an awful crime

But forever is such a long time

Clouds were looming everywhere I went

Still I smiled no matter what life sent

But when it started raining on Lexington Road

I knew that it was time to go

Love's a thing that we all vandalize

With our foolish hearts and our hungry eyes

We all just want someone to hold

When we can't love ourselves or when life gets old

To break a heart isn't always bad

But it takes time to get back

Everything you thought you had

The gentle breeze would always turn too strong

Still I bit my tongue and played along

But when the wind turned cold on Lexington Road

I knew that it was time to go

To break a heart is no joy of mine

But to break a heart right now

Might fix a heart or two or three or more

Somewhere down the line

Now the sun is shining even as I walk through hell

Life's been treating me so well

But when the sun went down on Lexington Road

I knew that it was time to go no no

Gotta get away from Lexington Road
